Hi! A little about us...
Founder & Stylist
Ari created Fig & Clover in 2010 with hopes to give her clients an intimate salon experience.
Ari aims to create a safe environment for all clients and provide a space for unique self expression and original hair design. We love being surrounded by artists, great restaurants, locally owned shops and a supportive culture, which is so much a part of north Oakland.
Fig & Clover is not just another salon - it's about being part of a community and creating a respectful and safe environment for everyone.
Melody Sage offers high quality, low chemical mani/pedi services that cater to the whole self: mind, body and spirit.
With consciously sourced, all natural, and made-in-house products (paraben/fragrance/cruelty free!), luxe massage, aromatherapy and no funky nail shop fumes, Fig & Clover is an Eco Diva nail shop :)
April began her hairstyling career in 2007, and for the past 5 years has focused solely on her passion for styling hair/creating Up-do's. She specializes in all hair types, lengths, and styles. April has a deep seeded love for design and craft, and when she isn't styling hair she is
designing jewelry for April May Jewelry Co. Whether it's a modern, vintage, or natural look; she's able to translate her background in design into each hair style she creates.
Sabrina is a recent addition to the Bay Area, coming from Austin Texas! She believes in treating the skin with kindness by using effective, cruelty free products while addressing her clients unique skin care needs.
With over sixteen years of experience in skin care, Sabrina is passionate about utilizing different types of treatments, and specializing in microcurrent. She is also well trained in brow shaping, waxing and sugar treatments.
Hannah began her hair career in Santa Cruz and moved to San Francisco in 2009 in pursuit of further education and inspiration. She completed an apprenticeship at diPietro Todd to become a cutting specialist there, before moving on as an independent stylist. Hannah is very comfortable creating strong geometric shapes although she would consider her first love to be softness, natural texture and a more lived-in look. She works with scissors, razor or a combo of the two, and one of her biggest characteristics as a stylist is that she doesn’t believe good hair has to take much time or effort. Hannah is all about finding easy ways for clients to coax their natural hair into being its best self, instead of demanding it to be something it’s not.
From the heart of San Francisco, Alice is a young entrepreneur currently living in Oakland, California. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in gender studies, while beginning her own business creating candles & scents. She quickly emerged into an airbrush nail artist, and tooth gem & tooth whitening technician. Alice brings such a creative background and is here to provide an elevated experience.
Casey has been cutting hair since 2015. They have formal training in both scissor and straight razor cutting, having intimately trained under esteemed educators with 20+ years of experience. What excites them most about the skills they've built and aesthetic they've honed is being able to provide you the tools to go, quite literally, four+ weeks without washing and still look and feel hot as hell (as long as that’s your goal, they swear they can do other stuff, too). Maybe you’ll have to brush it and keep up with the dry shampoo, but in this house we love a good lived-in look. There should be no reason you get a haircut, wake up the next morning, and feel powerless. They say all the time “your hair should fit your lifestyle” but if you ask Casey, they think your hair should do what you wanted before you got it cut. Plus, even if it is “dirty” or “messy”, you’ll still look GOOD.
